Flanders-Flemish DNA Project

Welcome to the Flanders-Flemish DNA Project

This site is dedicated to the genetic ancestry of Flemish people . Anyone whose earliest known ancestors are Flemish or came from Flanders is welcome to use this site to find out about the genetic inheritances we obtained from our ancestors.

The goals of this site is to assemble in one place, area specific DNA of Flemish people including both Y chromosome and mitrochondrial DNA. Another goal is to provide analytical information on common patterns in Flemish DNA and to research the deep ancestry of Flemish people.

This site will be developed on an ongoing basis; it will be regularly updated with more DNA records and better analyses of the Flemish DNA data.

If you already have taken a DNA test, have contributed your DNA to the Genographic Project of the National Geographic Society, or are in the FTDNA system,  you can JOIN this Flanders-Flemish DNA project now. If not this site shows you how to take a DNA test and become a contributor to this project. There is no charge to participate in this project; all information provide here is for the common good,  our understanding and knowledge about our Flemish ancestry.
